Grover Norquist has a bone he’d like to pick. No, it’s not that his rich buddies are being taxed too much. Not this time anyway.

Grover teaches us how to be an example for the world.

This time, Grover comes bearing a constitutional amendment banning family members from succeeding each other in key offices.

Although amending our Constitution may be an overly aggressive way of preventing Presidential dynasties, it’s important to prevent control of the nation to fall to the realm of a few families. Funny thing is I didn’t hear Grover warning us of this danger when George W. Bush ran for office.

His reasoning, in part, is that in order to assert diplomatic pressure to accept American style democracy around the world we need to set an example. We agree with this sentiment. Of course, we really ought to be setting that example by not ignoring the Geneva Conventions first.
